I’m trying to gather the Nathan Nolls of the world for an in-person meeting in early 2028. We’ll choose somewhere equidistant from everyone taking part.
Why? Life is short, and it would be interesting to meet people with nothing more in common than the sound we’ll each hear most in our lives.
Picture the room. Someone calls out “Nathan” and every head turns. Name tags are no help at all. Somewhere in that crowd is a Nathan Noll who grew up on another continent, one who is twice your age, one who has spent a lifetime spelling it out over the phone. Strangers, every one, answering to the same two words.
I think we’d have plenty to talk about. Who gets your email by mistake? Who turned up when you first searched your own name? What did each of us become, and does a name carry anything at all, or is it only a sound? I don’t know. I’d like to find out.
I can’t pull this off alone, so I’m looking for help from other Nathan Nolls. Put your name on the list so I know you’re out there. Tell the Nathan Nolls you know about. Bring ideas for where we should meet. I’ll be in touch as plans take shape.
